INTERNATIONAL TRADING INSTITUTE@SMU (ITI@SMU)
TRADING KNOWLEDGE, GOING GLOBAL
The International Trading Concentration (ITC) is increasingly recognised by students from the Singapore Management University as a programme of choice. At its inception in 2006, there were 22 pioneering students that signed up to be on the concentration. Today more than 130 students are on the programme.
Graduates from the programme have also been sought after by companies operating in the trading value chain. Many of them find jobs soon after graduation with a significant number being recruited into trading & its related sectors, such as banking, shipping, logistics and finance, amongst others.
Strong brand recognition has been built through the “Industry Speaker Series” of guest lectures. These sessions provide opportunities for both students and the industry to hear and learn from experts in the field.
ITI@SMU currently numbers 23 Industry Partners in its fold. These partners have contributed generously to the International Trading Concentration with funding support, contacts and professional expertise and advice. These efforts clearly underline the strong support that the trading sector places on this initiative. Many of the Industry Partners have also dedicated their time to serve on ITI@SMU’s various sub-committees.
ITI@SMU is able to offer a wide spectrum of programmes for Universities and Tertiary Institutions in the area of International Trade. Do contact us if you would like to work with us on courses for International Trade.
For private sector organisations, you may contact the Financial Training Institute@SMU to tailor programmes to meet your organizational needs.
