Looking back at 2019
It has been an exciting and fulfilling year for us at the International Trading Institute@SMU (ITI@SMU) as we continued our efforts to deliver impactful initiatives for the trading sector. In this newsletter, you will read about the many exciting and meaningful programmes that were part of our efforts to develop and grow Singapore’s trading ecosystem.
For our undergraduates, a new maritime programme which covers a breadth of logistics and operational modules known as Maritime Business & Operations Track (MBOT) was launched. The MBOT has been hailed as a timely initiative as it will contribute towards Singapore’s position as a global trading and maritime hub. Working in close partnership with SkillsFuture Singapore, the Internationalisation Skills Talent Development Programme was also introduced to help Singapore based businesses in their internationalisation efforts.
You will also learn about how strong international partnerships and friendships have been strengthened and forged through events such as the signing of the renewal of our partnership agreement with the Copenhagen Business School and the Advanced Maritime Leaders' Programme.
All that we have accomplished would not have been possible without our friends and partners from fellow educational institutions, industry, and the government who continue to believe in us. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks and appreciation for your unwavering efforts and support in journeying together with us.
We hope that you will enjoy reading this newsletter as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
